"Energy efficiency as one of important directions of construction of "Green Economy"
April 24, 2014, Astana – Experts of the UNDP have organised a round table with participation of representatives of local executive bodies of the East Kazakhstan and Mangystau Regions (oblasts) for the Energy Efficiency and «Green Economy» issues discussion.
The UNDP Energy and Environment and Governance and Local Development Units Experts have conducted a joint round table with participation of the East Kazakhstan and Mangystau Regions local executive bodies representatives, local experts, NGO representatives on “ the Energy efficiency as one of the important directions of 'the Green Economy' building “ topic.
The goal of the aforesaid event was providing all available information on ways, methods and means of advancement of energy efficiency in housing and utilities services, as well as in construction and lighting as a necessary condition for Kazakhstani transition to «Green Economy».
The experts have discussed barriers and obstacles in progress toward a energy efficiency initiatives realization as well as overcoming the barriers on the basis of UNDP/GEF and their partners projects implementation experience.
After the round table termination, participants had opportunity of visiting the pilot projects on the energy efficiency being implemented in the framework of the UNDP activities in Astana and Akmola region, namely they have visited the Astana School No. 9 heating unit, acquainted themselves with the activities on an energy efficiency outcomes.
