Removing barriers to energy efficiency in municipal heat and hot water supply

Astana has the first school corresponding to power efficiency requirements

During the reconstruction of Astana school-lyceum No 9, expenses on heating and hot water supply were reduced by 31% (almost on 400 thousand tenges), the project manager UNDP/GEF Alexander Bely said correspondent.

These days in Kazakhstan within implementation of the law “On energy saving and power efficiency increase” the normative legal acts were adopted which were developed by the draft of the UNDP and Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies on power effective construction. These acts provide toughening of requirements to power efficiency of new and existing constructions.

“Thanks to this pilot project, we could reach not only decrease in expenses, but also increase of qualitative level of heat consumption. Construction works of thermal point are done, external niches are warmed, systems of exhaust ventilation of the sports hall are restored,” the manager of UNDP/GEF emphasized, emphasizing on the work done on reconstruction of the school’s building.

“Also hydraulic calculation was executed, automatic balancing valves of struts are established, the new system of heating of the increased capacity on the basis of floor the fan-koylov is mounted.”
